Overview
Literacy is made up of these 5 meaning making components: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking and Viewing. Our classroom uses all five of these on a daily basis. Our literacy block is broken into Reading Workshop and Writing Workshop.
Reading Workshop
We will be spending the first month working on the procedure
Writing Workshop
In writing we are following a 6 + 1 traits writing guidelines. We will begin with the trait of ideas towards the end of September. Before we begin, we will learn how to write constructed responses before we take the NECAP. These constructed responses are referred to as "the answer sandwich.
